NovelCrafter gives you a flexible AI assistant and a strong codex. WordCrafter.Pro gives you a full writers room — six specialists for different stages, plus built-in cover art, marketing tools, and a market scout that researches what readers actually buy. One-click import keeps everything you've already built.
Drop your NovelCrafter .zip export onto the import button. We pull in your manuscript (chapters split correctly, Acts as folders, scene dividers respected), every Codex entry (Characters → Characters folder, Locations → World/Locations, Lore → World/Lore, Other → Notes), tags and aliases preserved at the top of each entry. Bold, italic, paragraph breaks — all carried over. The codex.html and AI chat logs are skipped (they're NovelCrafter UI artifacts, not your content).

Both platforms use a bring-your-own-keys model — you pay your AI provider (OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) separately based on usage. The platform pricing above covers the software itself.
NovelCrafter gives you a flexible general AI assistant you can prompt however you want. That's powerful — and it puts the prompt-engineering burden on you. WordCrafter.Pro gives you six pre-built specialists, each with its own context, prompts, and job. They share information so the editor knows what story development set up and the marketer knows your characters by name.
We're more expensive than NovelCrafter on the platform side. Here's what the difference buys you:
• A full writers room — Story Development, Character Creation, Writers Room, Editorial, Book Merch, and Marketing specialists. Each one is purpose-built; the editor isn't pretending to also be a marketer.
• Built-in cover art — generate cover concepts inside the app via Gemini Imagen. No bouncing to Midjourney or DALL·E.
• Marketing tools — back-cover copy, comp titles, social positioning, and the Market Scout for "write to market" research before you commit to a book.
• Integrated import from Scrivener, Sudowrite, RaptorWrite, and tagged DOCX/PDF/Markdown/TXT — bring your work from anywhere.
• Round-trip Sudowrite export if you need to share with a Sudowrite collaborator.
One-click export to EPUB 3 (Kindle, Kobo, Apple Books), DOCX (Word, Google Docs, agents), PDF (print-ready, with optional cover page), Markdown, or Sudowrite format if you collaborate there. Cover art lands on page one. Only the chapters you've ticked in the binder get exported, in binder order. Folders, cut scenes, and unchecked items are skipped automatically.
